On board, you will find microphone inputs, headphone outputs, and channel faders for you and five guests, as well as a dedicated channel for call-in guests who cannot make it to the studio. You also have nine sound pads with four banks for on-the-fly access to 36 sound effects and song samples. A color touchscreen manages common settings like gain staging, routing, and effects. And thanks to 2 hours of battery life with AA batteries, the PodTrak P8 has you covered for on-site recordings and studio power outages. For effortless compatibility, the Zoom PodTrak P8 records to common SD cards up to 512GB, which is great for ensuring you always have space for that extra-long episode. If you want to integrate the PodTrak P8 into your computer/tablet setup, the Zoom also acts as a 2-in/2-out audio interface for Windows, Mac, and iOS. The P8 gives you six microphone preamps with selectable phantom power to support your favorite handheld and studio condenser microphones. Six headphone outputs with independent, color-coded volume knobs make it easy for the operator and guests to adjust playback levels. And you also have six independent faders (again, color-coded) for mixing stream-ready podcasts and live reads without the need for a laptop. The PodTrak P8 also offers a versatile soundbank of 36 assignable sounds controlled by nine soft-touch silicone pads. The P8 comes with 13 preloaded sounds—applause, laughter, and more—to get you started right away. But once you master the PodTrak P8's editing software, you will be launching song clips, theme music, and commercials unique to each episode. Have a special guest who can't come to the studio? The PodTrak P8's dedicated channel for incoming calls routes phone calls into your episode. You can use the P8's wired mix-minus audio channel or connect calls wirelessly via Bluetooth using the separately sold Zoom BTA-2 Bluetooth adapter. The PodTrak P8's easy-to-read touchscreen interface makes navigating basic and advanced functions simple. This frees up the console's buttons, knobs, and faders for hands-on control in a recording setup.
